Hannah E. Clark - Author & Storyteller
About the Author
Hannah E. Clark writes humorous and educational children’s books inspired by her own parenting journey. The foibles and fun are celebrated in her unique look at childhood, as everyday joys and challenges become adventures. The treasure trove of material is never ending!
She also has a passion for serving and encouraging women in ministry, speaking to their unique experience and challenges. This passion stems from personal experience and years of relational connection. Her book Ministry Mama takes a look at the very real women of the Bible, what is revealed about God through their stories, and how it all applies to women in ministry.
Hannah spent her childhood in central Spain as part of a missionary family. Afterward she attended Elim Bible Institute and College in Lima, New York, where she met her husband, Ben. They went on to serve as youth pastors for 15 years in Rochester, New York, and Saint Paul, Minnesota, and now serve in southern Oaxaca, Mexico, with their five children.

About the Story
“Everyone has at least one book in them.” A successful novelist made this statement during a panel at a writer’s conference years ago. And… I believed her.
Books and stories have always meant a great deal to me. With just a few words, an author can convey, and a reader can experience joy, laughter, sorrow, deep thought, adventure, or mystery. Across distance and time, paper and print, the author and reader share these things without even having met.
I wrote my first book at 8 years old. It was about unending love, siblings, and pancakes. Check out the first chapter!
So, now having a little more skill, and having written a few children’s books and one Serious Book (with capitals so you know I mean it), I’m on a quest to see if they could be useful, fun or exciting for readers out there.
My first offering for the children’s market is called Norah’s Untamable Mane. It was inspired by my daughter’s stunning curly hair, and our ongoing battles with it. The mane takes on its own lion-like personality as the lion tamer tries to bring it into submission.
It’s equal parts absurd and educational: it uses new vocabulary words for kids as it rhymes and tells a story. With a glossary at the end, parents can help their kids learn these fun new words.
Norah’s Untamable Mane has beautiful illustrations, and as someone with no artistic talent (check out my initial sketch), I’m thrilled to have worked with Juliana Fulton.
Julie is a super-talented artist and up-and-coming illustrator who is capturing the narrative and feel of this story beautifully! Below are just a few samples of her work.
My inner 8-year-old is beyond excited! And I’m delighted to share this journey with all of you.

Future Project - Ministry Mama
The Serious Book is tentatively called Ministry Mama.
I grew up on the mission field, went to Bible school, did a year as a single missionary overseas, and married a youth pastor from the United States. We were in youth ministry together for 15 years before God called us to southern Mexico as missionaries, so I have been in and around the ministry in some capacity my whole life.
I’ve had an inside look at some of the very real challenges of women in ministry, particularly pastor’s wives. These came into real focus for me as I was navigating beginning marriage, becoming a mother, and ministry expectations at the same time.
Over the years as I chatted with other pastor’s wives, some common themes emerged from women of all ages and backgrounds who are in this role. I ended up interviewing many of them with specific topics in mind.
Out of that, Ministry Mama was born. It takes a look at some specific, unique challenges these women face, and gives encouragement and equipping from women in Scripture, with a focus on what our ancient sisters learned about God in their journey with Him.
I’m currently talking to some influential women in the field of Christian ministry, and I’m hopeful it will lead to some interest in publishing. I know there is a real need for books on this specific subject, and I’m hopeful it will produce fruit soon.
